" The more a form is stripped, the more its impact will be significant, and the more will it be effective and useful ! "

 

Walter presents an approach inspired by artistics movements like Minimalism, Bauhaus, which eliminate the superfluous, save ressources, return to the basics. They're looking for capturing the essence of form, colour, matter.

 

 For this project, I took inspiration from the concept of “clean”, which translates the mainlines of something, the rejection of excessiveness and superfluous. This bias refers to neat, to cleanliness, to the notion of clear-cut, opposed to that of uselessness. My goal is to question our way of life by a vacuum, a silence, an uniformity that is unusual, in our society where permanent consumption of goods increase. Here, the surplus, the fantasy, the extravagance that surrounds us daily are rejected in favor of the rational, the rigorous, the basic. The quest for purity is a way of returning to the essential, seeking a new form of beauty closer to one’s self.

Authentic, frugal and natural, it offers a return to the essential - an outfit close to the body - away from the superficial and the looks' significance prevailing in society nowadays. This is a concept that I engage in my work.
